THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ARMAMENT REPAIRER SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1262000 and is part of the PA Combined Support Maintenance Shop East, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.

Duties

As an ARMAMENT REPAIRER SUPERVISOR, WS-6601-10, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisors. Investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implement corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Plan and establish overall leave schedules. Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Perform the non-supervisory work of the function as needed. Develop, publish and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Implement and comply with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural firefighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operations, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the Combined Support Maintenance Shop - East AOC 2: NG employees in the DCSG4 (This includes Combined Support Maintenance Shop - West, Director of Logistics, State Surface Maintenance Office, FMS's 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, 16, 17, 24, 27, 28, 29, and 33, and the United Training Equipment Site) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) Military Grades: WARRANT OFFICER: WO1-CW4 ENLISTED: E7-E9 Supervisor for this position is CW4 Fake *NOTE: If you're a new supervisor in the Federal Government civil service, you may have to complete a one-year probationary period. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
