About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, at Doral, Florida.
Duties
Plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the administration, operation, utilization, maintenance, inspection, and inventory control of the non-tactical vehicle fleet.
Develop and maintain systems and procedures of program related reimbursables, i.e., vehicle washing, vehicle recovery service, on-post fuel, and units supported through reimbursement.
Perform analysis of the vehicle fleet regarding utilization, cost per mile, monthly lease costs, and maintenance and repair time.
Determine requirements and develop justifications for vehicles needed in support of the installation.
Serve as Mass Transportation Benefit Program (VanPool) Coordinator and Certified Driver and Operator Standardization Program (Master Driver Program).
Plan and program for the effective accomplishment of motor transport operations.
Provide recommendations for improvements or required revision to operating or support procedures.
Recommend operational and budgetary requirements to the Installation Transportation Officer for inclusion in the Directorate budget plans and execution.
Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.

- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may require the incumbent to perform shift work which may include work on weekends and holidays.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning, establishing, and/or monitoring motor transportation functions; 2) Conducting studies of transportation and/or fleet operations; 3) Analyzing utilization of fleet equipment; and 4) Resolving vehicle operations issues. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field with major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
