The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an operational level command and control instructor in the 505 Training Squadron (TRS), Air and Space Operations Center (AOC), Formal Training Unit (FTU).

Duties

Responsible for providing oversight of the 505 TRS training focusing on operational level command and control. Develops and reviews, revises and approve training instructional materials in accordance with established learning objectives. Uses training experience and knowledge of training, develops and approve the plan and measurement devices for measuring achievement of instructional objectives. Overseas the designs instruction for the 505 TRS. Measures the effectiveness and efficiency of the instructional programs for 505 TRS.

Qualifications

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Position has been identified as a faculty member of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC). Minimum degree requirement of an Associate's Degree from CCAF or a regionally or nationally accredited post-secondary institution in the discipline or in combination with appropriate work experience in Airfield Management Operations. This is an Obligated Position in which an employee has return rights. Upon the employee's return, incumbent may be required to vacate this position. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series + IOR (Individual Occupational Requirement). BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: *** THIS IS A CCAF POSITION*** Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis; to include knowledge of all aspects of military operations conducted across the competition continuum are required as is the ability to use SAP and IJSTO-related planning and integration skills to aid in the development and execution of training, planning, exercises, and experiments for both the Air Force and Joint forces training. Knowledge and understanding of current wartime planning and current national military strategy, operational Air Force Doctrine, joint doctrine, joint and Service planning models, operational design and airpower theory, cyberspace operating principles and doctrine, DoD policy and guidelines, and Air Force war and mobilization planning. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of academic processes and procedures used to develop, assess, execute, evaluate and revise in­ residence and off-station courseware and curricula to maintain the highest academic standards consistent with civilian universities and military service schools. This position requires AOC experience, academic instructor experience, and a two-year nationally/regionally accredited degree. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to apply the principles and techniques of education and to help students acquire specific skills or knowledge. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and maintains good working relationships. 4. Clear understanding of the application of recognized Instructional Systems Development (ISD) models for curriculum development and evaluation purposes. 5. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritizes work to meet changing deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively. clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy in responding to work-related problems and questions. 6. Knowledge of the application of technology to a military training program, as well as, a working knowledge of instructional technology applications key to the future development and adaptation of courseware to computer-based and telecommunication oriented distributed learning systems. AND/OR Recent experience in an operational AOC division. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
