As a Transportation Operations Officer you will manage and direct total motor vehicle services and related support to numerous customer agencies throughout assigned area. Location of position: FAS Fleet Management Zone 1. General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Fleet Management Division, Zone-1, Baltimore. MD.
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Manages and operates a complex fleet of approximately 4500 vehicles ranging from sedans to heavy trucks, of which over 500 are special purpose vehicles.
Responsible for providing total motor vehicle support services to a significant number of military bases.
Responsible for periodic review of sub centers ad filed operations to ensure efficiency and economy of each system and facility.
Responsible for a broad area of technical and managerial assistance with the FMC, military offices, ad other Government agencies on motor equipment management.
Responsible for broad program of training for customer agencies in vehicle safety, driver education, vehicle economy and utilization in the zone.
Requirements

The GS -13 salary range starts at $117,962.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is managing, supervising, leading or providing authoritative expert advice in the administration of a fleet operation. Such experience must include fleet operation or leasing support; customer service; contract administration; application of laws, federal regulations, and executive orders; and application of current industry standards and trends.
