You will serve as a EXPLOSIVES OPERATOR in the Standard Missile Maintenance Program of NMCPAC EAD DET PEARL HARBOR.
Duties
You will perform assembly, disassembly, renovation, modification, breakdown, inspections and test of Standard Missiles and related equipment and components.
You will use hand tools, measurement devices, gages, electrical test sets, circuit testers, ohm meters, pressurizing equipment, and various specialized
tools as directed in applicable technical manuals.
You will prepare material for movement by unitizing, palletizing, packaging, marking, and labeling in accordance with standard safety, material movement, and packing procedures and requirements.
You will installs wooden blocks, bracing structures, and other staying devices, as well as secures/lashes items using strapping, and other hardware to the appropriate military standards, weapons requirements, and/or related specifications.
You will plan and determine the materials locations within storage facilities using optical scanning devices to document and record asset locations.
You will ensure that assets are stored in accordance with drawings, stow plans, and safety/fire/security regulations governing explosive compatibility, explosive limits and hazard classifications.
You will operates trucks and vans with gross vehicle weights not exceeding 18,000 lbs GVW.
You will offload and on-load ordnance materials from trucks using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, overhead Category 3 (non-cab operated) cranes.
You will collect and analyze data, use computer databases to enter, edit, transmit, store and retrieve information and generate reports.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification; Ordnance Material Handlers: Shall be certified for Ordnance Handling in accordance with OPNAVINST 8023.3 (Series) and NAVSEA OP-5 Vol. 1
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification; Standard Missile Handlers: Shall be trained and certified in accordance with PEO IWS 3.0 Manual MD 57463B Standard Missile evaluation procedures for Limited Maintenance Activities.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification; Explosive Operator Material Handling Equipment (MHE): Shall be trained and certified in accordance with NAVSEA SW023-AG-WHM-010.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification; Explosive Operator Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) and Ordnance Handling Equipment (OHE): 4 Shall be certified in accordance with NAVSEA OP-5 Vol. 1 and NAVFAC P-307.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
