Duties
You will serve as a Pathways Intern and is located in the Coast Guard Finance Center, Chesapeake, VA. The Finance Center is the world-wide finance and accounting office for the Coast Guard. The position's primary purpose is to provide developmental accounting assignments to the incumbent that involve the application of accounting principles, procedures, processes, regulations and reference material fundamental to the technical aspects of governmental accounting.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. To qualify at the GS-04 grade level,(starting salary $35,870) if you are a current student (attending an accredited educational institution recognized by the Department of Education) and have two years of education above high school or an associate's degree.
To qualify at the GS-05 grade level,(starting salary $40,432) if you are a current student (attending an accredited educational institution recognized by the Department of Education) and have two years of education above high school or an associate's degree..
NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level.
