Duties
About the position: This position will be assigned to Potomac Lanes.
Cleans, oils, and polishes the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards. Sweeps dusts and cleans other areas of the bowling facility; collects and removes trash; and maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Hand sands and vanishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned.
Makes minor corrective adjustments in bowling lane machinery as necessary and performs periodic minor preventative maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment.
Maintains stock levels and records on spare part for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems.
Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge in the maintenance of bowling lanes; skill and ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Ability to frequently oral and/or written instructions. Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
