This a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This National Guard position is a HARD TO FILL Permanent GS-1152-09 PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0973000 and is part of the MO TASMG Shop. This is a bargaining position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW.

Duties

Establishes plans and schedules for the maintenance, modification and repair of rotary, single and multi-engine aircraft and their major systems and sub-systems. Maintains a regular flow of work through the facility. Implements maintenance plans and monitors progress of accomplishments. Uses production and management reports available from Aviation Resource Maintenance Management Information Systems (ARMMIS) to provide status of equipment, maintenance actions in progress, and location of equipment to the customer. Implements maintenance plans for supported aircraft and schedules maintenance. Conducts planning of production, and other factors influencing the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment. Designates and maintains current maintenance priorities by equipment type and unit supported. Authorizes the acceptance of equipment for repair. Monitors work priorities, current status, and completion of work orders. Requisitions and provides status of repair parts and assures the effective utilization of maintenance personnel. Analyzes repair methods and develops control procedures and policies to assure accomplishment of programs to meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support units. Coordinates with support units and other support maintenance activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders. May provide day-to-day technical guidance and assigned work to lower-graded Production Controllers. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Title 32 National Guard employees whose application for this position would result in a change to lower grade will be entitled to pay retention.

  • This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - CW3 (W-3) Minimum Military Grade - WO1 (W-1) Warrant Officer- Branch 15, 91, 92, or 94 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess general experience, education or training which indicates you can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 24 months experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. The specialized experience must also demonstrate skill working with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

Education

This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
