You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Hydrologist/Chemist/Physical Scientist in the Environmental Division of MCRD ERR PI SC.

Duties
You will be responsible for administering a program that adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
You will coordinate with units and tenants aboard the installation to deconflict projects and mission requirements with restrictions associated with restoration sites.
You will service as a technical spokesperson for the installation during inspections and site visits by federal and state regulators and DoD officials regarding status of investigation cleanup activities.
You will prepare project notifications, permit applications, and related correspondence for signature by the Commanding General for submission to federal and state regulatory agencies.
You will initiate correspondence pertaining to the programs and accept responsibility for developing reports for information to higher authority, other agencies, and the public.
You will participate as an active member of the installation's Environmental Impact Review board.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying statistical techniques to evaluate chemical and hydrogeological data; investigating soils, surface water and ground water contaminations; applying and interpreting environmental laws and regulations to assess their impact on the installation restoration program and the installation.

Applicants must possess
GS-1301:
- Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
or
- Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
GS-1315:
- Degree: physical or natural science, or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in any combination of courses in hydrology, the physical sciences, geophysics, chemistry, engineering science, soils, mathematics, aquatic biology, atmospheric science, meteorology, geology, oceanography, or the management or conservation of water resources. The course work must have included at least 6 semester hours in calculus (including both differential and integral calculus), and at least 6 semester hours in physics. Calculus and physics, as described above, are requirements for all grade levels.
OR
- Combination of education and experience -- course work as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
GS-1320:

Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.

Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
