This position is in the G8 Office located within the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center which serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems used by U.S. service members.

Duties

Serve the organization as an expert analyst engaged in professional and administrative work in accounting, auditing and/or budgeting. Perform analysis of outstanding commitments, unliquidated obligations, and open reimbursable orders Represent the command in formal and informal meetings conferences, committees, and seminars

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Three-year trial/probationary period may be required.
• This position requires DOD Financial Management Level 2 certification in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012,
• Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d..? Certification is required for this position within 24 months of assignment.

Combination of Education and Experience: Must include at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: (1) Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law; OR (2) A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; OR (3) Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; AND (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; AND (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.
