About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts/Auto Hobby Shop on Holloman AFB, New Mexico.
This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave).
Incumbent must be able to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the economic and efficient operation of the Arts & Crafts Center and Auto Hobby Shop on Holloman AFB.
The primary duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment and business activities at the Arts & Crafts Center and Auto Hobby Shop.
Responsible for operating the cash register system, collecting money, making change, and issuing receipts.
Opens and closes out the register, completes required reports and deposits in accordance with established guidelines.
Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment, and funds assigned with established resource protection/internal controls processes and procedures.
Assists customers with special orders and any issues that may arise.
Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
Develops and revises an accurate Capital Requirements Budget for NAF/APF expenditures. Submits timely NAF/APF budgets as required.
Identifies equipment, supplies, and minor facility improvements as needed.
Responsible for compliance with HAZMAT and Safety requirements at the Arts & Crafts facility and related equipment.
Reports facility repairs and maintenance requirements according to established procedures.
Assists with inventory of resale, supply, equipment, and property.
May administer and facilitate Arts & Crafts programs and classes, in the absence of the Programmer.
Identifies materials needed for classes, customer requests, and processes customer orders.
Initiates service contracts for programs and services.
Assists in evaluation of program effectiveness.
Prepares publicity materials, stays current on trends and techniques to provide quality programs.
Responsible for the recruitment, development and supervision of assigned personnel.
Assigns and reviews subordinates' work and provides instruction/guidance as required.
Establishes performance standards and evaluates employee performance.
Prepares reports and justification for awards, reassignments, promotions, and any other actions when appropriate.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to work shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position requires the incumbent to meet the requirements to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and network access.

Qualifying Experience:
Responsible experience which has demonstrated the ability to manage business activities. May have been gained in an operating, administrative or managerial positions which included responsibility for various phases of operations, such as equipment and supply accountability, financial management, or planning organization of club activities.
The experience must have provided a knowledge of accounting and financial planning principles and procedures.
Experience leading a team of 3 or more employees is required.
Must possess skills to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Creative and artistic abilities are desired.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
