The incumbent serves as an Investigative Assistant in the Federal Investigative Program of DCSA and is responsible for performing a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the program.

Duties

This announcement is open to All U.S. Citizens who reside or are currently employed in the Long Beach, CA local commuting area to include the cities of Artesia, Bell Gardens, Bell, Bellflower, Carson, Cerritos, Commerce, Compton, Culver City, Cypress, Downey, East Los Angeles, El Monte, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawaiian Gardens, Hawthorne, Huntington Park, Inglewood, La Mirada, Lakewood, Lomita, Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Marina Del Rey, Montebello, Monterey Park, Norwalk, Paramount, Pico Rivera, Rosemead, Rossmoor, San Pedro, Santa Fe Springs, Santa Monica, Seal Beach, Signal Hill, South Gate, Torrance, West Carson, Whittier and Willowbrook, CA. As an INVESTIGATIVE ASSISTANT you will be responsible for the following duties:

Qualifications

The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened from the Office of Personnel Management's (OPMs) basic qualifications requirements. See: Compliance Inspection and Support Series 1802 (opm.gov) for OPM qualification standards, competencies and specialized experience needed to perform the duties of the position as described in the MAJOR DUTIES and QUALIFICATIONS sections of this announcement by 10/18/2024 Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience required for this position is: Specialized experience is described as clerical or technical experience that includes organizing information, maintaining data base records (entering, searching for, retrieving, editing and deleting data) using word processing and basic spreadsheet software reviewing basic documents (employment applications, claims for benefits, loan applications, contracts, or investigative forms) for accuracy and completeness. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Decision Making: Specifies goals and obstacles to achieving those goals, generates alternatives, considers risks, and evaluates and chooses the best alternative in order to make a determination, draw conclusions or solve a problem. 2. Flexibility: Adapts quickly to changes. 3. Education

If substituting education for experience, at the GG-05 level, you must have successfully completed four years of post-high-school education

Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions.
