You will serve as a SUPERVISORY AUDIOLOGIST in the Directorate for Public Health Services under the Head of Occupational Medicine of NMRTC QUANTICO VA.
THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will provide management and oversight of local Hearing Conservation Programs and hearing loss prevention efforts.
You will design and coordinate hearing loss prevention training plans/programs.
You provide a broad spectrum of hearing and health care services.
You will serve as a first level supervisor, reporting directly to the department head.
You will provide administrative, clinical, and professional health care services that promote operational readiness and support training.
You will serve as gatekeeper to Occupational Audiology services through daily triage of incoming consults.
You will review business trends and problem-solve to maximize operational readiness and provide outstanding customers-focused in support of the Hearing Conservation Program.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current ASHA certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology or American Board of Audiology Certification.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing clinical audiological care.
Experience with any hearing conservation program.
Experience utilizing OSHA, NIOSH, DoD, DoN, and USMC-specific guidance regarding Hearing Conservation.
Experience utilizing principles, practices and procedures of the science of audiology to plan and perform a wide range of activities relating to the operation of a complete audiology or service or to a major portion of a program or to perform assignments of considerable difficulty
Experience working with diverse members of a healthcare team to coordinate, evaluate and educate large patient groups.
In addition to Specialized Experience, Applicants must possess licensure:
Must posses a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Speech/Language Pathology and/ or Audiology as applicable in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Education

Applicants must possess.
For
audiologist positions, a graduate or higher level graduate degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of audiology with approved clinical practice.
Applicants for positions with both
speech pathologist and audiologist duties must have successfully completed all the requirements for a graduate or higher level degree with 18 semester hours in one of the fields with approved clinical practice and, in addition, must have either completed a minor in the other field or must have had at least 1 year of professional experience in the other field.
Education: The mandatory education program described must have been approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (
