As Senior Program Specialist in the Office of the Chief Scientist, you will take a leading role in developing and implementing policies and procedures with NASA's Chief Scientist and Senior Climate Advisor. You will collaborate with a small but accomplished team of subject-matter experts covering the breadth of the NASA science enterprise to ensure that the Chief Scientist and Office staff remain conversant with current Agency priorities.
Duties
Serve as a primary liaison between NASA and interagency partners for coordination on topics relevant to the Office of the Chief Scientist.
Represent the Chief Scientist/Senior Climate Advisor and NASA at domestic and international space policy, science, and climate conferences. Serve on the NASA delegation to Conference Of the Parties and International Panel on Climate Change meetings.
Provide primary support and staffing for events to senior agency officials, including the administrator’s office, on behalf of the Office of the Chief Scientist.
Organize senior-level briefings for events and outreach activities.
Develop, plan, and oversee team production of agency-wide working groups, town halls, events, and products that fall under the Office of the Chief Scientist.
Administer NASA’s Climate Strategy Working Group on behalf of the Chief Scientist/Senior Climate Advisor.
Develop, maintain, and support execution of Climate Literacy curriculum for NASA workforce.
Lead internal and external outreach projects to amplify the agency’s science and climate portfolios, e.g. NASA Science Live.

- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Conducting engagements with senior personnel both internally to NASA and with interagency partners, clearly conveying complex subject matters;
Participating in domestic and international policy and technical conferences, synthesizing takeaways for application to activities in the home organization;
Providing key communications strategies and tactics to support NASA science priorities.
