About the Position: Provides management support to the Directorate of Public Works on acquisition management activities including Contractor Officer Representative (COR) and Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) training. Serves as the COR/QAE training management database coordinator for the directorate.

Duties

Provide management support on acquisition management activities. Track completion of all mandatory and other required training by employee. Serve as the directorate Government Purchase Card (GPC) cardholder for supplies and services. Operate automated systems to gather data for organizations recurring reports. Maintain appointment letters, certificates, nomination letters for all existing directorate construction and service contracts in an electronic database. Read outgoing correspondence for grammar, format, spelling, procedural accuracy, and consistency. Assist in preparing paperwork required for submitting actions. Receive requests for the purchase of supplies, services and automation equipment from directorate supervisors.

Requirements

  • A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required for this position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

  • This position requires a qualified typist that can self-certify that they can type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

GS-05 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using automated systems to utilize a variety of software applications such as (Microsoft Exchange Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Microsoft Office). Maintaining a variety of files in accordance with established guidelines; preparing, formatting, and proofreading correspondence; maintaining calendar of events, screening visitors and receiving phone calls. Ordering supplies, maintaining time and attendance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working in an office setting utilizing a variety of office automation software such as Microsoft Office Suite to produce emails, documents, reports, and presentations; providing general guidance and direction to personnel regarding office procedures and policies; reviewing and analyzing incoming and outgoing correspondence; maintaining files; interpreting operational orders; and utilizing and electronic calendar to schedule meetings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves duties preparing requisitions, inventories, and hand receipts for equipment; procuring and distributing purchases and supplies; preparing correspondence on non-technical administrative matters; consolidating responses of a technical and non-technical nature received from the staff, and preparing the appropriate response or correspondence for supervisor signature. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
