Duties
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Data and Digital Innovation Directorate serves a critical role to deliver transformative GEOINT capabilities today that provide decision advantage tomorrow. Artificial-Intelligence/Machine Learning is among the highest priorities and one of the most visible programs at NGA. DDI, as the custodian for AI/ML programs, routinely garners the attention of the D/NGA and other senior DoD and Military leaders. DDI is seeking highly motivated candidates with strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork, proactive engagement and most importantly, be part of a fast paced and high ops tempo program that will foster and grow the AI/ML NGA artificial intelligence and data capabilities across the enterprise.The Ontology and Lexicon Standards Coordinator will lead efforts to develop and implement ontology and lexicon standards for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD). Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Demonstrated ability to communicate technical findings to a non-technical audience.2. Demonstrated experience developing implementing data set processes for data discovery, modeling, mining, and/or production to meet customer requirements and policies.3. Demonstrated experience leading policy implementation projects and workflows under Agency compliance standards.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Data Management, Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Cartography, Geospatial Sciences, Physical Sciences, or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics, plus experience that involves management of data within databases, or in a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience that involves management of databases or in a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/60 or better with or without corrective lensesDESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated experience using critical thinking skills and/or data analytics to address matters of national concern, such as foreign military, environmental, and/or terrorism.2. Experience with one or more computing languages and/or tools e.g., scripting languages.3. Experience planning, prioritizing, and balancing assignments to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks; ability to adjust as needed to adapt to changing situations.4. Demonstrated experience communicating data findings, impacts, root causes, and recommending solutions.
