The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups.
Duties
This Information Technology Specialist provides technical and analytical assistance involving Litigation Support and three or more other IT specialty areas which support the information management needs of the United States Attorney's office (USAO) and mission
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Information Technology Specialist support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of IT Systems/Network and Telecommunications Administration; IT Technical Litigation Support Services; Customer Support; Policy and Planning.
Typical work assignments will include:
Performing essential "Information Technology" tasks associated with day-to-day operation of the USAO IT systems.
Maintaining district-wide responsibility for testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance and management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in data, telecommunications, voice and/or video format.
Planning, creating and coordinating litigation support services IT requirements and needs (including IT trial preparation support, e-discovery production and troubleshooting, Clouds Storage, secure external media management and troubleshooting, Trial laptop preparation and preparation and presentations) in response to customer needs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Maintaining network architecture and infrastructure to ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity and/or efficiency;
Implementing policies and/or procedures to ensure IT systems reliability, accessibility, and/or to defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data;
Planning, creating, or coordinating litigation support services IT requirements and needs in response to customer needs;
Providing customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training in response to user requirements.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level.
You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
