Duties

This position will allow you to perform a variety of general clerical duties and provide administrative support to managers and staff. This position starts at a salary of $57,594.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $74,874.00 (GS-07, Step 10). In this position, you will strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland by joining a valuable team of administrative professionals. Typical work assignments include: Performing a variety of general clerical duties in support of various specialty areas within the organization Assisting with preparing budget requests by compiling data and by preparing justification statements Running data reports for management Compiling various recurring and ad hoc reports Establishing, maintaining, and monitoring a variety of records and statistical data regarding the administrative services provided

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Assisting with the development of information material and disseminating it to various target audiences Assisting with preparing budget requests Assisting with the annual physical inventory of nonexpendable property and equipment, noting discrepancies, and maintaining documentation Providing assistance with various workforce management procedures Assisting with maintaining the organization's personnel files and records NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process by 10/11/2024.
