This position is part of the Interior Business Center (IBC), Human Resources Directorate (HRD), Payroll Operations Division (POD) for the Payroll Systems Management Branch. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining specialized payroll-related automated processes.
The selectee must physically report to the duty station, Lakewood, Colorado. This is not a 100% remote position.
Duties
Serves as subject matter expert and technical authority in data processing capabilities, configuration management, and data administration.
Performs work involved in planning, developing, implementing, maintaining, operating, enhancing, and evaluating hardware and software programs.
Serves as team leader, project manager, and technical expert for complex payroll system application development efforts to process data received from all agencies in the Department of the Interior and other authorized agencies.
Coordinates with Office of the Chief Information Officer for the Department of the Interior on networking, server administration, and database administration.
Qualifications
At the GS-13 level, you must meet the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes experience with systems analysis, design, writing program code, languages, and implementation; experience in the development, configuration, and maintenance of various payroll, personnel, and/or accounting systems; experience in multiple coding environments including windows forms applications, windows services, and mainframe systems; experience maintaining contingency processing plans, backup, and recovery functions, testing standards and procedures.
