About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th AFSB, Logistics Readiness Center located at Fort Cavazos.

Duties

Facilitate work groups in development of documented procedures. Investigate customer complaints to determine solutions. Provide technical assistance to repair personnel by providing troubleshooting assistance, validating standards, and researching repair data. Perform Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) to determine repair requirements and cost of parts and labor. Assist shop personnel in developing cost estimates relating to bids being prepared for special repair programs. Monitor surveillance over government or contractor operations. Perform random sample inspection on tactical and combat equipment and components during the acceptance, repair, and testing procedures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain certification of Emergency Vehicle Technician Levels I, II, and III with recertification every 3 years.

Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience to include: (1) Evaluating processes covering supply and maintenance activities to determine acceptability of performance; (2) Developing quality assurance surveillance plans to use in evaluating operation efficiency; and (3) Reviewing reports of documented instances of unacceptable performance to improve operation of the program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationProblem SolvingQuality Assurance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
