The primary purpose of the position is to conduct maintenance, repair and restoration programs consisting of the following activities; periodic visual and operational inspections of buildings to determine repairs and/or service required.

Duties
The major duties of the position Mason include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of exterior and interior surfaces and structures of brick, block, stone, concrete, and plaster.
Have the ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, surveys, work orders or sketches independently and determine the layout and work sequences.
Repairs and maintains historic masonry on buildings, parapets, fences, chimneys, fireplaces, etc.
Plans and lays out work and selects the proper tools and materials to be used.
Must be able to perform a variety of complex brickwork and cuts and shapes brick, block, and stone for reconstructing and repairing masonry structures.
