You will serve as a RECEIPT INSPECTION ASSISTANT in the Inspection Division Code 133 in the Quality Assurance Department Code 130 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. A post allowance amount, (otherwise known as: COLA), of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. Post allowance is subject to change at any time. For additional information, please refer to the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Chapter 5 Part B. GS-06 Salary Range: $45,994 - $59,794 GS-07 Salary Range: $51,110 - $66,445

Duties

You will track material undergoing receipt inspection by maintaining an automated status report. You will maintain a record of all material undergoing receipt inspection, including certification documents generated during the receipt inspection process. You will facilitate the receipt inspection process by coordinating inspection priorities, completion dates, requirements, tests, etc., between the branch inspectors, codes and shops within and outside of the organization. You will research and provide technical documents and/or information to Inspectors and others. You will have knowledge of the receipt inspection process, sufficient to identify what needs to be done to complete receipt inspection on a particular material. You will have knowledge of Shipyard organizations, sufficient to identify which codes are involved in or affect the receipt inspection process.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing shipyard material and identification control terminology identifying what needs to be done and estimating manhours required to complete receipt inspection procedures using office automation skills to develop and maintain an automated database to report the status of material undergoing receipt inspection. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, organizing, and communicating effectively and professionally both orally and in writing providing reports to management using general knowledge of the receipt inspection process identifying what needs to be done to complete the receipt inspection process on particular materials using office automation skills to update an automated database on the status of material undergoing receipt inspection. In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
