This position is located at Freedom Lanes Bowling and Entertainment Center at NAS Jacksonville. The purpose of this position is to assist with the daily operation of the bowling center.

Duties

Receives and records on cash register money received from patrons for use of facility, retail merchandise, equipment and facility rental. Answers phone providing information about facility, equipment, hours of operation and programs offered. Receives, records and makes reservations for use of the facility. Maintains a change fund. Prepares a daily activity report at the end of shift and deposits funds at the Navy Exchange cash office. Assists with general housekeeping of facility such as; policing grounds, sweeping and dusting of work area, emptying trash receptacles and cleaning of restrooms. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Must have salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of 32212 at time of applying.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity based functions. Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities. Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities. Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests. Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations of recreation activities. Must have strong customer service skills. Ability to maintain records, compile and organize data for reports, and perform research on recreation topics for dissemination to customers. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of computers, office procedures and print production. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.
