The primary purpose of this position is to provide intelligence support to the acquisition life cycle for the Joint Threat Warning System (JTWS) at HQ Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Supports effective research, development, fielding, employment, sustainment and improvement of AFSOC capabilities.

Duties
Serves as a multi-source Intelligence Specialist. Performs complex intelligence analysis with emphasis on AFSOC, United States Operations Command (USSOCOM), Air Force, and DoD programs/systems acquisition activities and leads teams/projects supporting MAJCOM, USSOCOM, Air Force, and DoD acquisition processes and programs. Evaluates both classified and unclassified information to understand U.S./coalition and adversary strengths, weaknesses, and centers of gravity.
Provides intelligence support to AFSOC/A2P programs, systems, and processes. Employs expertise to achieve technical understanding of a US weapon system's intelligence information requirements to identify and minimize cost, schedule, and performance risks as early in the system's life cycle as possible. Understands and participates in the Defense Acquisition Process by identifying the intelligence supportability needs of a weapon system or program across the entire acquisition life cycle.
Presents ISR capabilities to a variety of program office, service, national, and/or coalition customers. Applies knowledge of acquisition and IC, to include awareness of the variety of intelligence databases, collection management, requirements management, IC roles and responsibilities, online intelligence documentation, and new intelligence technology developments to assure program threat requirements are identified and recommends solutions for recognized gaps.
Serves as an Intelligence authority on specific ISR programs, systems, or issues. Serves as an expert for an intelligence function, process, program, or weapon system. Makes recommendations and defends positions to the Program Office, directorate and/or center leadership, and other command-level or external customers. Decisions and recommendations may have a significant impact on the committal of funds or resources impacting future intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements describes in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: extensive knowledge of the full range of general intelligence research and analytic methods, techniques, and practices to difficult and complex work assignments; knowledge of analytical principles, concepts, and methods; demonstrated knowledge of the national IC, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations; extensive knowledge of the acquisition life-cycle and the role of intelligence in the development of weapon systems, new operational concepts, and innovative techniques, and the intelligence infrastructure; extensive knowledge of acquisition and intelligence utilized to identify intelligence sensitivities within a program; knowledge of multi-source intelligence information systems and databases. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the intelligence cycle and intelligence policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and inter-relationships of the national IC, DoD, USSOCOM, AFSOC and USAF.
2. Knowledge of acquisition policy and guidance and the role intelligence plays throughout a weapon system's life cycle; Acquisition Intelligence analysis mission and strategy; and the roles and responsibilities of field intelligence offices in support of USAF and SOF research laboratories, acquisition program offices, and life-cycle management, nuclear, sustainment, and system testing enterprises.
3. Knowledge of the full range of intelligence research methods, techniques, and practices and advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods used to identify and analyze complex multi-source intelligence information to produce detailed intelligence capabilities and threat assessments, identify intelligence deficiencies, and advocate for customer requirements.
4. Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing intelligence requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients.
5. Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.
6. Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and competing resources, based on mature judgment and experience and present and/or defend a position effectively.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
1. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
3. Mission Essential: This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. Ref: AFI36-129, dated 17 May 2019.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
