You will serve as a MAIL AND FILE CLERK in the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1 Department of MCRD ERR PI SC.

Duties

You will perform various duties involving the control, processing and delivery of incoming and outgoing personal and official mail You will process deal with a variety of specialized subject matter fields, which are considered in sorting, controlling and determining the appropriate action office for referral of material. You will be responsible for the accomplishment of all necessary liaison work maintaining coordination with United States Postal Service and military organizations You will receive, sort, and route incoming mail to approximately 100 or more distribution points by organizational designation, name, subject, etc

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Work is performed outside for brief periods of time to load, unload and drive 1/2 ton motor vehicle.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provides the control, processing and delivery of incoming and outgoing personal and official mail; responsible for the accomplishment of all necessary liaison work maintaining coordination with United States Postal Service and military organizations. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
4 years above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education that adds up to 100% of the requirement. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
