Duties
The duties, described below, represent the major duties performed at the GS-11 level. The duties performed for developmental positions will be of limited scope and complexity to develop skills, proficiency, and work experience.
Analyzes, plans, and evaluates directorate functions to determine validity, propriety, accuracy, and adequacy of work processes.
Examines a wide variety of documents, records, and related reports, and processes, for management review and analysis.
Reviews, analyzes and prepares a wide variety of reports, documents and tasks for leadership.
Analyzes and evaluates review or examination findings, and develops formalized reports to include recommendations and identification of suggested changes.
Coordinate with DFAS staff offices for support and services needed by the functional area.
Position will serve as administrative support as well as analyst support to mission area headquarters.

Qualifications
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-09, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-11, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07 if applying at the GS-09 level or GS-09 if applying at the GS-11 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-09 Specialized Experience is defined as: performing financial management data analysis, creating recommendations for financial operations improvements, and customer support for an automated payroll system.
GS-11 Specialized Experience is defined as: analyzing financial and accounting operations to recommend process improvements; monitoring and evaluating financial systems to identify weaknesses and ensure compliance with internal controls; and analyzing the impact of applicable laws and regulations on an organization's financial policies, operations and systems and recommending changes to maintain compliance.

Education
GS-9 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
