You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist/ Planning and Sustainment Lead in the Production/Strategic Group of COMFLTREADCEN.

Duties

You will resolve integrated logistical support (ILS) problems by developing new approaches and procedures. You will collaborate with others to ensure logistics support needs are met. You will analyze logistics procedures to support and sustain aircraft systems products. You will be technical expert and advisor to the FRC’s and responsible for coordinating, planning, managing and supporting execution of customers intermediate and depot level maintenance requirements You will be the point of contact for designated customers (PEO’s, PMA’s, NAVSUP, etc.) relative to the strategic approach to intermediate and depot level maintenance and repair of aircraft, engines and components. You will be direct liaison and coordinate plans across various stakeholders to identify and execute short term and long-term maintenance and production goals of the customer to meet Fleet requirements. You will perform Root Cause Analysis and Production barrier Identification and provide guidance, plan goals, and discuss courses of action for barrier removal with FRC’s and other pertinent Stakeholders. You will assist in conducting studies and developing plans using a disciplined and comprehensive approach in assessing cost, schedule, and readiness impacts. You will provide sound advice and recommendations for assisting in the development and approval of aircraft, engine and component Work Load Standards (WLS) for the organic depots. You will interpret and define long-range implications of IPS elements (e.g. the impact of major system design modifications on life cycle support, shifts in strategic planning, or unexpected cuts in defense appropriations).

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Understanding the oversight, monitoring and implementation of planning and execution; life cycle sustainment of fielded major weapons system functions of supply, maintenance, readiness and inter-service studies Planning resource requirements (funding, manpower, facilities, etc.) for life-cycle management of the assigned programs. Ability of plan future resource budgets, responds to budget inquiries, monitors execution and coordinates with other cost center managers as needed. Evaluating and monitoring fluctuating resource levels and requirements due to additional or revised technical capabilities, budget changes, production rate changes, schedule changes and/or process changes. Manage and monitor these ongoing changes and controls their impact on quality, schedule, cost and performance through effective planning strategies. Identifying and defending resource requirements (funding, manpower, facilities, etc.) for life-cycle management of the assigned programs. Implementing change management, ability to garner support of required changes, develop and implement required changes, barrier removal and risk assessment/mitigation. Having an advanced knowledge of Depot level maintenance concepts for aircraft, engines and component product lines and logistics processes. Maintenance and Industrial Operations processes and Life Cycle Logistics management methodologies. The oversight, monitoring and implementation of planning and execution; life cycle sustainment of fielded major weapons system functions of supply, maintenance, readiness and general knowledge of inter-service support and studies.
