You will serve as an ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE, WHE CRANE CERTIFICATION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will install and repair electronic and electrical components such as control systems, voltage/speed regulating equipment, safety devices, motors and wiring circuits on all types of weight handling equipment.
You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and provide maintenance on a variety of electric-powered weight and material handling equipment such as scissor lifts, hoists, manlifts, cranes, and diesel electric floating derricks.
You will repair electrical wiring by crimping and/or soldering renewing dividual wiring, harness or insulation.
You will do preventative maintenance such as cleaning and inspecting, gear boxes, lubrication of general equipment components, circuit boards, sliprings, and contacts.
You will interpret and apply requirements contained in technical manual, shop directives, blueprints, diagrams, and other drawings.
Requirements

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Using portable machines and hand tools (e.g. drills, grinders, punch presses, cutting machines) to install and repair equipment and machinery; 2) Using hand tools (e.g. wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, punches) to complete repairs; and 3) Using shop math and arithmetic to perform dimensional measurements and maintain required tolerances.
