Duties
As a Lead Equal Opportunity Specialist, you will:
Exercise leadership regarding day to day functions of a division staff and provide technical supervision over the following: complaint processing adjudication; EEO ADR personnel; or affirmative employment activities.
Assist the Director on all aspects of equal employment opportunity; coordinate production of weekly/monthly/annual management reports; conduct legal and technical review of work products; represent the Division and the Office within HUD and in liaison with other Federal, state, and local governments; participate in the Development and presentation of training modules and materials on equal employment opportunity programs and activities.
Provide advice and/or consultant services to EEO Officers, Program Managers, EEO liaisons, managers and supervisors on EEO concepts, theories, requirements and broad problems concerning EEO; provide training on issues related to complaint processing, adjudication, and maintaining a civil workplace.
Perform other duties and special assignments as assigned by the Director or Deputy, ODEEO.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience:
Specialized experience for the GS-14 is one year of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience applying equal employment opportunity, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and regulations to resolve workplace issues. Examples of such experience could include:
-Conducting training regarding the interpretation and implementation of EEO, ADR, No FEAR, and all other nondiscrimination laws; OR
-Reviewing and analyzing allegations of discrimination; OR
-Reviewing and analyzing final decisions based on allegations presented, including appropriate remedies and relief; OR
-Recommending procedural changes in policies and practices which tend to eliminate employment barriers.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
