Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.- To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
In order to qualify, you must first meet IRS Internship Program eligibility:
You must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis, or accepted for enrollment, and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution; have at least a cumulative (overall) 2.0 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale; remain in good academic standing.
Secondly, you must meet any basic requirements of the position and the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
GS-04 LEVEL: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate degree or equivalent degree in any field of study.
GS-05 LEVEL: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in any field of study.
GS-07 LEVEL: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education in any field of study. OR Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree in any field of study.
This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Applicants failing to meet the medical requirements at the time of their initial medical examination and drug test will be considered ineligible for the position.

Education
This position has an education requirement. You
MUST submit dated documentation showing current enrollment in a qualifying institution (e.g. letter from the registrar, unofficial transcripts from current semester) by the closing date of the announcement. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
