Duties

To achieve our mission, the agency is actively engaged in recruiting, hiring, developing and advancing careers for individuals with disabilities (including those with the most severe) through a variety of hiring authorities that are posted on this website for receipt of applications.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
  • You may be required to serve a probationary or trial period.
  • Supervisory Positions: You may be required to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
  • Relevant experience and/or education (as noted on the vacancy announcements)
  • These positions may require the completion of a financial disclosure report. All EL-15s are required to complete an annual financial disclosure report.
  • These are NOT remote or virtual positions; you MUST live within or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to the duty location of the position.
  • FHFA participates in e-Verify. All New hires must complete the I-9 Employment Verification form either on or before their first day of employment. If a discrepancy arises, you must take affirmative steps to resolve the matter.
  • If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
  • Some of these positions are eligible for inclusion in the bargaining unit. The union that represents employees in these positions is the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) Chapter 343.
  • The salary range covers the Washington Metropolitan area. Actual pay will vary depending on the duty location of the position filled.

Qualifications

All positions, dependent upon the title, series and grade/band levels of the position being filled, may require some level of education, general experience, and/or related specialized experience. The applicant's resume must show the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position for which selected. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
