This position is located in NWFR (Facilities Operations and Maintenance - O&M), Facilities Operations (NWF), Workplace Services (NW), Chief Administrative Office (N), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
As Facilities Operations Specialist you will serve as the program lead and primary technical authority for the Facilities O&M program providing leadership and technical expertise for all aspects of the infrastructure supporting Ross Complex, Portland Hangar and BPA Headquarters assets.
Duties
Temporary Promotion (BPA-only): This is a temporary promotion, not to exceed one (1) year, may be extended up to five (5) years total; may be made permanent without further competition. Upon termination of the promotion, you will be returned to your original position of record, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay. Temporary promotions may be terminated at any time based on the needs of management.
If you are currently employed at a grade equivalent to, or higher than the advertised position, the action will be considered a detail for processing purposes, and no salary increase will be associated with accepting the position. Details are processed in 120 day increments and may be extended up to two (2) years total; additional extensions may be approved at the discretion of the Human Resources Service Center Director. Upon termination of the detail, you will be returned to your original position of record. Details may be terminated at any time based on needs of management.

Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- This employer participates in the e-Verify program.

- Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period.
- This position requires a valid driver's license as a condition of employment.
- The position is covered under the Civil Service Reform Act (CSRA) as a Code 4 supervisor.
- A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work. Current Federal employees or other individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check.
- This position is subject to On-Call Status and must respond to facilities emergencies 24/7.
- This position may be required to provide 24/7 critical operations to assigned facilities or systems to include on-call duties.
- The incumbent must live within 60 miles in order to respond to emergencies.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-12] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Specialized experience is defined as 1) Administering the design, construction, modification, operations and maintenance, asset planning, and documentation for all aspects of infrastructure supporting a variety of spaces (e.g. office buildings, technical service buildings, their assets, etc.); 2) Ensuring that maintenance, repair, and construction needs are identified and performed in accordance with established schedules. 3) Analyzing facility operations and maintenance problems to determine the most economical and practical engineering solutions.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
