You will serve as a SMALL CRAFT OPERATION & REPAIR (SAIL DESIGN & RIGGING) SUPV I in the Sail Division - Waterfront Readiness Department of NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will research, plan and develop creative designs for various size sails made at the Sail Loft.
You will perform as project manager and ensure all requirements defined in the Performance Work Statement are complied with.
You will establish deadlines, set priorities, and work sequences for subordinate workers to ensure work is accomplished on schedule.

Qualifications

1) Planning small craft operation and repair work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates; 2) Establishing shop priorities and determining the number and type of personnel required to accomplish job assignments; 3) Observing small craft operation and repair work in progress for compliance with required specifications.

Work requires frequent boarding of various waterborne craft and have to inspect maintenance in small cramped spaces. Work requires kneeling, crouching, and awkward positions while evaluating the work performed by others.
Forty percent of work is indoors, sixty percent is outdoors, of which twenty percent may be on board various waterborne craft. Employee will be exposed to the normal hazards found working in a marine repair facility exposed to the weather. Safety gear is required.
