You will serve as an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic in the Production Division, Public Works Department Great Lakes, of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Duties
You will determine the nature and scope of repairs required to restore electronically controlled industrial equipment to service.
You will inspect systems, interpret gauge and meter readings, or recalibrate controls to maintain conditions or operation.
You will perform operational test of electronically controlled industrial systems and components to determine functionality.
You will analyze diagnostic test readings and operating conditions of electronically controlled industrial equipment to isolate system malfunctions.
You will use signal generators and oscilloscopes to visually trace the progression of a signal.
You will use test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters) to make repairs or adjustments to electronically controlled industrial equipment.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You may be required to obtain Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) certification from a State Environmental Agency if required by the state.
- This is an emergency response position. In the event of an emergency, the incumbent may be required to report to work during a non-duty/duty hour and during emergency situations, may be assigned duties other than those in the position description.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Incumbent may be required to serve on-call duty on a rotational basis. When on-call, the incumbent is required to carry a duty cell phone and duty pager and must remain available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Monitoring and analyzing indications and readings for individual systems or subsystems to determine integrated system operational condition and isolate faults. 2) Setting up and operating electronic test equipment. 3) Solving difficult testing problems that arise by applying a broad range of electronic principles, analyzing malfunctions, and devising repair procedures. 4) Performing operational checks, calibration, and final testing of electronic instruments and equipment.
