About the Position: This position is located at Lower Monumental Lock & Dam which is located on the Lower Snake River near the rural community of Kahlotus, WA. The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers is comprised of motivated and talented employees providing the very best engineering services for communities in the Pacific Northwest.

Duties

Exercises administration and technical supervision over approximately 75 employees. Responsible for all aspects of personnel management. Promotes team-building and improves business practices. Manages the operation, maintenance and security of a hydroelectric power plant, spillway, navigation lock and appurtenant structures. Responsible for a yearly routine Operation and Maintenance budget of approximately $12 million dollars. Establishes multi-year strategic plans and project budget proposals. Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving operational and/or engineering issues. Supervises the preparation of technical reports, studies, decision documents and project budgets. Oversees budget management of multiple complex funding sources. Represents the Corps of Engineers during fact-finding tours and briefings to other federal agencies, special interest groups, regional stakeholders, congressional visitors. Works to increase fish survival through the Snake/Columbia River system. Represents management working with union officials to adhere to the collective bargaining agreement.
