As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.As the Deputy Director, the incumbent serves as a senior advisor to the Assistant Administrator for Human Resource Management (AHR-1), AHR-2, and AHD-1.
Duties
The Incumbent provides direction, supervision, and managerial oversight for the delivery of Career and Leadership Development services, Implementation of corporate AHR development policies and procedures, and the Implementation of FAA Leadership and Learning Institute courses and FAA Learning Center services. Manages the work of a large, multi-level organization typically through subordinate managers. Integrates work of multiple organizations to meet strategic goals of the organization and the FAA, participates In strategic planning for the FAA, and makes commitments (program, budget, etc) for a major organization.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- A one year managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J, FG/GS-14 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized Experience-Experience managing and troubleshooting logistics associated with training delivery, e.g., facilities, travel, supplies/equipment, etc; and-Experience preparing, managing, and providing oversight of operational budgets and contracting actions; and-Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to translate, interpret and extrapolate results effectively to diverse FAA audiences, executives, managers, and team members.· You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
