This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Southeast Watershed Research Unit in Tifton, GA.
In this position, you will serve as a personal assistant to the Research Leader by performing a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
Duties
Serves as the primary administrative business process point of contact for the unit.
Advises on procedural and documentation requirements for the Current Research Information System.
Reviews and edits manuscripts and reports.
Assembles information from a variety of sources for the use at meetings and conferences.
Establishes, maintains and revises an office filing system.
Serves as principal timekeeper for an office.
Requirements

GS-05
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-05 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-04 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience assisting with planning and coordinating administrative tasks; reviewing documentation for proper format, grammar, and punctuation; and maintaining detailed records or files for an office.
OR
Education: Successful completion of four years of education above high school. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
A combination of education and specialized experience as described above.
GS-06
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-06 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is reviewing and editing manuscripts or reports; developing budget or financial documentation for an office or unit; and coordinating events such as meetings, conferences, seminars, or training.
GS-07
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience reviewing time sheets by compiling employee time, wage or payroll data; evaluating data pertaining to costs in order to plan budgets; and managing coordination of research projects by monitoring and managing budget costs.
All applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute.
