You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will organize and direct the accomplishment of a program of nuclear material and technical direction functions related to the Navy-wide supply support of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant components and repair parts. You will be responsible for developing, evaluation reviewing, implementing and administering logistics policies, plans, programs, methods and procedures. You will ensure that all functions (procurement, receiving, inspections, packaging, storage, control, issue, disposal, shipping and on-yard delivery) supporting naval nuclear work are accomplished effectively.

  • This position is covered under Public Law 114-264, the Program Management Improvement Accountability Act (PMIAA).
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with engineering and supply policies and procedures for material ordering, procuring, receiving, storing, controlling, issuing shipping and disposing of material, components and equipment. Experience with shipyard work and practices related to the conversion, overhaul, alteration and refueling of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants. Experience answering to extremely short deadlines and high visibility cases by command and higher authority. Experience providing professional, technical, and administrative management of the division. Experience managing and making determinations for projects or programs to be initiated, dropped, or curtailed.
