You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the FLEET READINESS CENTER MID ATLANTIC FRCMA VRT DEPT MYPT PROD BR of FLTREADCEN DET MID ATLANTIC PAX RIVER.
Duties
You will install, modified, repair, troubleshoot, and test naval electrical equipment and components, such as Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) or other related systems.
You will work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out repair work and trace hard-to-locate defects.
You will use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot malfunctioning circuitry and equipment.
You will identify broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating wiring, fixtures, and equipment through a visual check or through the use of various metered test equipment.

- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Operate different test rigs and equipment to meet the requirements of ALRE and Visual Landing Aid system and components being develop by engineering personnel.
Conduct static, integrity and functional checks to ensure proper operation of experimental test rigs and equipment utilizing various sources such as electrical, high-pressure air and hydraulics.
Planning and coordinating work processes including the sequence of operations to meet job requirements.
Perform hydrostatic and operation cycle test of experimental modified components for ALRE system.
Inspect, install, maintain, repair and overhaul a variety of ALRE electrical system and components.
Prepare sketches and serve on engineering integrated product teams engaged in the design prototyping and manufacture of replacement parts.
