About the Position: This is a position with the Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital, Directorate of Medicine, Emergeny Medicine, Agana Heights, Guam.

Duties

The incumbent is responsible for the coordination and oversight of Navy Medicine's (NAVMED)Force Health Protection (FPH) Emergency Management (EM) Program. Incumbent must be familiar with The Joint Commission standards for Inpatient facilities, outpatient, facilities, and ambulatory care centers, to ensure optimal planning of facilities. Incumbent is responsible for mass casualty plans as required, specifically designed to test and evaluate the MTF's level of preparedness in responding to a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN), or all-hazards incident. The incumbent serves as a technical advisor for all EM issues and interfaces with NAVMED Region for complex EM issues affecting the BU MED activities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
