You will serve as a TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST (AIRCRAFT) in the MRO F/A-18 PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST located at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA.

Duties

You will perform technical data research. You will develop and present specialized training on technical data requirements, data configuration and control; and database management query procedures to government and contractor personnel. You will organize and catalog information. You will perform audit workloads performed by the team and document quality of service based on adherence to established time standards, quality characteristics, and performance metrics. You will provide reference and research assistance to customers and locate appropriate resources; and compile periodic and Ad Hoc reports of workload and customer service activities. You will oversee operations, maintenance and use of the automated systems used within the Technical Document Library Branch, the Technical Directives area and the Engineering Drawing Customer Services area. You will provide accountability for technical publications and associated technical data. You will operate equipment used for storage, display, reproduction, and distribution of paper and digital data. You will be required to have regular and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing reference and research assistance to customers; 2) Performing technical data research; 3) Organizing and cataloging information to make materials accessible to users via technical library databases or websites; 4) Converting paper based and digital information into an intranet environment. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual. Applicants must posses:

Education: A full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in the subject-matter field of the position to be filled.

OR

Experience: Four years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; and where appropriate, ability to read and comprehend nontechnical material in one or more foreign languages. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum.

OR

A combination of education and experience as described above.

Additional Requirements for Positions at GS-9:

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education

OR

Master's or equivalent graduate degree, e.g., LL.B. or J.D., related to the position.
