This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA JOINT FORCE HEADQUARTERS - DODIN.
Duties
Coordinates with the cyber operations community to ensure proper oversight of the JFHQ-DODIN operations,
plans, capabilities, and support requirements.
Plans, integrates, and executes complex projects and studies involving cyber tactics, techniques, and procedures
in the areas of cyber defense, cyber integration, and DOD Information Network Operations.
Supports all aspects of strategic, operational, and tactical planning for cyber operations to include the
coordination with Service partners and agencies to further the integration of cyber capabilities into long-term
operational planning efforts.
Leads and participates in crisis action planning events and facilitates the essential communication between
JFHQ-DODIN and subordinate organizations to synchronize protection measures and effects.
Integrates intelligence and operational information to develop protective measures.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a drug tested position.
- In accordance with DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subjected to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements in 12 months.
- This is a Term Appointment position Not to Exceed three (3) years. Eligible for noncompetitive conversion to a permanent CES appointment at a later date.

Basic Requirements:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
AND
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in IT Cyberspace Operational Security Analysis to include assessing target vulnerabilities and/or operational capabilities to determine course of action; developing, reviewing, recommending, and implementing all levels of planning guidance in cyber operations; providing recommendations for cyber systems security and defense.
