Duties
Performs a full range of administrative support functions and clerical duties in support of Human Resource in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.
Personal contacts are with internal and external customers, in person and in writing, to provide general natural resources information and/or response to customer inquiries.
Maintain central filling system with reviewing, researching, locating, and monitoring inventory usages of all official forms.
Prepare edits and finalize all correspondence for office employees. Distribute to appropriate personnel by tracking and maintaining.
Distribute to appropriate personnel by tracking, maintaining and verifying the cost of line items in the budget, checking the accuracy, and consistency of data.
Requirements

Qualifications

For GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) in the federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: performing clerical administrative duties; Human Resources, working with the public and providing customer service; skill in computer software programs.
For GS-07: One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: drafting and editing a variety of business correspondence using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; coordinating travel, meetings, and conferences; handling cash transactions; assisting with managing an office budget; and the ability to use office automation/software programs
This position is considered a career ladder opportunity, with a full performance level of GS-07. If selected at a lower grade level, you may be non-competitively promoted to the next grade level at the discretion of your supervisor and is contingent upon meeting regulatory and legal requirements for promotion, satisfactory performance, and the availability of higher-level work. Promotion is not guaranteed, and no promise of promotion is implied.

Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials.
Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
Education
This position falls under the Miscellaneous Clerk and Assistant Series, 0303 and does not have an Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR).
There is no substitution of education for experience at these grade levels.
