You will serve as a LEAD PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the Quality Control (QC) Department of NAVDRUGLAB JAX FL.
Duties
You will provide bench level training and orientation in technical and administrative procedures, QC analytical and statistical techniques, equipment operation and maintenance and laboratory safety.
You will initiate updates of QC Laboratory Operating Procedures (LOP) manual and in-house QC Department Forms ensuring all aspects of QC functions are fully documented and reflect current practices.
You will generate trend analysis on a specific QC material for the purpose of trouble shooting the performance of that material or instrument using the FTDTL-IMS QC statistics and graphing programs.
You will prepare in-house or maintain stocks of purchased open and blind control test materials.
You will complete appropriate documentation for inclusion into test runs.
You will abstract and collects control data, performs technical evaluation, and plots and tracks results.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing general knowledge of the drug screening laboratory program objectives, chain of custody requirements, requirements for absolute compliance with laboratory operational procedures (LOP).
Experience leading, directing production and communicating (oral and written) with other laboratory departments regarding Quality Control (QC) issues as well as direct use of resources and supplies.
Experience entering data into MS Excel spreadsheets. Ensuring the data is accurate and evaluate QC materials based on LOP certification criterion.
Experience utilizing FTDTL computer programs to enter data and assist in corrective actions for QC materials.
Experience entering data into laboratory and department computer systems. Must have organizational skills for the filing of QC records and records management.
Experience calibrating QC equipment and measuring devices. Ensures complete documentation of all calibration data.
