This position is located in the Service Center, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). You will provide technical support to the enforcement staff to properly manage the enforcement program.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. To qualify for the GS-07, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience equal to the GS-06, which includes: Experience in providing guidance and interpretation of data collection, tracking, and reporting compliance processes. To qualify for the GS-08, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience equal to the GS-07, which includes: Experience in providing guidance and interpretation of agency regulations and policies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: ORAL COMMUNICATION: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Flexibility - Is open to change and new information; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. DECISION MAKING: Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change. DATA MANAGEMENT: Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and tools of data management, such as modeling techniques, data backup, data recovery, data dictionaries, data warehousing, data mining, data archiving, data disposal, and data standardization processes.
