About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division located at Fort Drum, NY.

Duties
Serves as Transportation Division Chief at a complex, multi-mission installation providing a full range of installation transportation logistics operations and services.
Leads planning and manages Transportation Division activities to meet the needs and requirements of the installation.
Provide transportation funding priorities by mission according to the availability of funds.
Provide management and oversight of the installation transportation program.
Requirements
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret (Tier 3) clearance.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- This position is designated as a "Key" position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization's ability to function effectively.
- This position is designated as Mission Essential. The position is needed to ensure facility operations and/or performance of duties and completion of tasks that are mission essential functions of the organization.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing a transportation program; 2) Determining budget allocations;
3) Providing transportation advice and/or guidance in accordance with regulations to other personnel; and 4) Utilizing transportation operating systems (such as JOPES, CMOS, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
