You will serve as a Production Shop Planner (Sheet Metal Mechanic), Structural Shop, Production Resources Department, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine.
Duties
You will provide all planning required for the trade of Sheet Metal Mechanic and assist in other trade work that can be performed using previous work packages.
You will coordinate the packaging and assembly of supporting documentation and materials to meet schedules, task breakdowns, and material delivery deadlines.
You will use Technical Work Documents and expertise with shop operations and trade practices to determine and stage material, equipment, and special tools needed to accomplish specified work tasks.
You will serve as central point of contact to facilitate communication between the Zone Managers, Foreman, Shops, and Technical Codes to ensure continuous work progress.

- Occasional overtime may be required.

Applying full-performance level experience in the trade of Sheet Metal Mechanic with general knowledge of the work of other trades.
Coordinating the packaging and assembly of supporting documentation and materials to meet schedules, task breakdowns, and material delivery deadlines.
Identifying task package efficiencies and recommending ways to package work that will result in cost and schedule gains.
Performing a review of all current scheduled work and using applicable software to determine the proper scope for an individual task package based on the probability of work beginning as scheduled.
Maintaining contact with managers and supervisors who will accomplish the work to address task package efficiencies and concerns, and ensure modification to the scope of the task package is identified and corrected.
