About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as an Command Inspector General.
Duties
Reviews and acts on complaints that are extremely sensitive and which can create wide exposure and a high degree of interest.
Identify, accumulate, analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources to identify and determine the validity of allegations and issues inherent in the investigation/assistance complaints.
Works with employees/managers to assist and show them how a procedure or process should be working when an inquiry/inspection reveals it is not being done in an acceptable manner.
Provide leadership and oversight of the Joint Munitions Command Headquarters inspection staff, to include influencing leaders across both headquarters and installations.
Prepare analysis on complaints processed through Inspector General's office; covering types and trends of complaints for presentation to organizational leaders on a periodic basis.
Prepare and deliver executive summaries, information papers and briefings to advise senior leaders on case summaries, recommendations and analysis.
Requirements
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Occasional TDY may be required.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Identifying violations of laws, regulations or policies to provide assistance and potentially conduct follow on investigations. 2. Briefing senior management on inspection results. 3. Conducting inspections of organizational activities to improve processes, workforce discipline and morale. 4. Making recommendations to change/influence policies or programs. And 5. Teaching and training staff on proper execution of policies, procedures across the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
