About the Position: Serve as the District's Security and Law Enforcement Manager, involved in the planning, formulation, supervision, coordination, investigation, controlling and inspection of all facets of security, both internal and external, for the overall district security program accomplished in connection with civil and/or military missions. Relocation and Recruitment incentives, including student loan repayment, may be offered to highly qualified candidates.

Duties

Develop, plan, direct, and coordinate District policies and procedures for the protection of district assets. Perform required physical security inspections/surveys at all field sites. Serve as an Anti-Terrorism (AT) officer. Coordinate security clearance determinations with hiring officials and human resource specialists. Manage the Continuing Evaluation Program. Serve as a Corps Occupant Emergency Coordinator for the Federal Building. Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for handling and safeguarding classified material in the District. Ensure CAC card facility access.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within the first two years of employment.
  • Physical Security Inspector Credentials must be obtained within the first two years of employment.
  • The incumbent will be required to wear protective safety gear at most sites.
  • The incumbent's work is primarily sedentary in nature but requires recurring regular physical exertion in inspecting activities located in rough terrain, which requires long periods of standing, walking, frequent stooping and bending.
