The primary purpose of this position isTo serve as an Equipment Specialist (ES) within the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division across multiple branches, programs, activities, and diverse mission disciplines. To provide technical support and establish a logistics and maintenance support services for life-cycle sustainment.
Duties
1. Serves as the senior technical advisor to senior leaders, Program Managers and maintenance technicians in the maintenance, operation, and training related to complex and sophisticated systems and equipment.
2. Senior technical logistics representative for assigned EIT systems and/or equipment
3. Provides senior technical services support for EIT systems and/or equipment
4. Develops and reviews Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Design Change Notices (DCNs) and modifications.
5. Provides technical expertise and assistance to procurement activities in the selection of contractor repair sources.
6. Serves as technical expert and maintains expert technical knowledge of computer security threats and architectures including Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT).

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.

- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under

- The employee must meet or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) as designated on the position description within the defined grace period for that certification level after assignment.
- This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: successful job performance required for this position as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment. Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements. Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements. Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders. Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met. Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principals, and practices of EIT systems and/or equipment; and of DoD, NSA, AFMC, AFLCMC, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division logistics procedures and policies.
2. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information; and logistics support standard and non-standard systems.
3. Knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of Information Assurance systems or equipment, and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments.
4. Skill providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians; and developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
5. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data; and, identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines.
7. Ability to develop and conduct training to ensure proper maintenance of assigned EIT systems and/or equipment; and communicate well, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizability to develop and contions (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
